The first graders were asked to
think about "where they go when they daydream." Then they drew their
ideas in pencil, went over their drawings in sharpie, erased their lines
and watercolored the illustration. The paintings are so whimsical and
fun!
The Kindergarteners read The Rainbow Fish and other fishy books.
Inspired by the beautiful illustrations, the students made their own two sided fish.
Colors and patterns were added with craypas and watercolor resist. Finally the fish were stuffed and strung with
beaded lanyard.
The eighth graders’ have been busy working on their self-portraits
inspired by Andy Warhol. Individual photos of each student were
posterized in Adobe Photoshop for them to grid with
a ruler and enlarge onto a canvas board. They are mixing tints of
acrylic paints in bright colors for their faces and hair. The results
are sure to “Pop” with bold color.
