Leaf Rubbing Watercolors and Craypas Leaf Drawings


The Second graders looked at Fall Leaves in the Art Studio. They created leaf impressions by rubbing crayon on paper with the leaves underneath. Then they painted with watercolor and discovered the crayon wax resisting the paint. Finally, they observed a leaf, drew it with craypas and glued it onto their composition.

No Mistakes in Art


In the Art Room, the Kindergartners were introduced to the medium of watercolor paints and were encouraged to experiment with various techniques and color mixing. Inspired by the book, “The Big Mistake,” they learned there are no such things as mistakes in art as each result is unique and beautiful.

Winter Trees- 5th grade



The fifth graders observed and sketched trees outside at the end of Fall. From those observations, they drew these trees using marker. The drawings were painted with watercolor and salt was added for a cold, winter-like effect.
